Nicole Jukes lives in Brisbane, Queensland and is the founder of BYU Australia. Outside of coaching she is a dedicated mum, motivational speaker and lawyer.

She is the first Australian female to ever win a Backyard Ultra by taking the win at States of Origin Last One Standing in 2022.

Nicole did her first 10km race in 2015 and since then has gone on to run marathons around the world, compete in track ultras, road ultras and many Backyard Ultra events. Nicole has had various wins including Butter24 12hr track ultra in 2019, Butter24 6hr track ultra in 2020, Glasshouse Hares & Hounds 50k in 2022 and Western Branch Marathon in 2022.

Her running passion is with Backyard Ultras.
After many years of running and racing, Nicole now enjoys using her knowledge to coach others in their pursuit of their goals.

Nicole is passionate about the Backyard Ultra format and the intricacies that come with perfecting a backyard ultra race. Her focus with her athletes is on building mental resilience and teaching them how to balance training with all of life’s other competing priorities to get the best out of the training and the athlete.

Nicole coaches all levels of runners and has a particular interest in beginner runners because she loves seeing the growth from beginner to someone who finds out they have so much more.

Being a passionate long distance runner herself, Nicole knows what goes into a training block to make the start line of a race. She has a compassionate and caring approach and works towards your personal goals as if they were her own.
